Meet the Doctor: Nathan Murrell, DMD
Nathan Murrell, DMD, is a skilled and compassionate dentist. He provides exceptional services including cosmetic, family, and general dentistry at Gaston and Murrell Family Dentistry, boasting a beautiful, state-of-the-art clinic conveniently located in the Green Hills neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Murrell grew up in Columbus, Georgia, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University in Alabama. He returned to Georgia to earn his dental degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and moved to Nashville shortly thereafter to begin practicing with his father-in-law, Dr. Gaston.
Dr. Murrell is proud to continue the legacy of Dr. Gaston’s superb care. He enjoys seeing the patients, children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren that Dr. Gaston once treated and is passionate about continuing to provide the highest standards of care. Dr. Murrell stays up-to-date on all of the latest developments in the field of dentistry through his memberships in numerous professional dental organizations, like the American Dental Association, the Tennessee Dental Association, and the Nashville Dental Society.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Murrell enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife, Lindsey, and their three boys: Drew, Dawson, and Colemen. He enjoys golfing and coaching his sons’ sports teams. He and his wife are actively involved in Christ Presbyterian Church’s local community. Dr. Murrell also spends a great deal of time volunteering, lending his services specifically to the Interfaith Dental Clinic, an organization striving to bring accessible dental care to all individuals.

Business Administrator
Kari has been a valued member of the team for many years having worked with both Dr. Murrell and Dr. Gaston. You will know her from her cheery smile as you walk in the office. Kari takes pride in helping our patients with business, financial and scheduling questions. Kari has received advanced education in accounting and dental assisting from Nashville State Community College. Her education even includes graphic design from O’More College of Design.
Kerri
Dental Assistant / Front Office
Kerri has been with the practice for over 20 years working with both Dr. Murrell and Dr. Gaston by assisting them chairside during clinical procedures. She knows many of our patients and loves caring for them. You may have also seen her in the front office as she assists with the business needs of the practice as well. Kerri received her education at Western Kentucky University, Vol State, and Nashville State Community College.
Debbie
Registered Dental Hygienist
Debbie has been with Gaston and Murrell for nearly the last 20 years. She has had the privilege to serve patients of both Dr. Gaston and Dr. Murrell. Debbie enjoys caring for each of her many patients. She partners with her patients to help them achieve optimal dental health. Debbie received her education in dental hygiene from Western Kentucky University and the University of Kentucky.
Dorinda
Registered Dental Hygienist
Dorinda has been practicing hygiene for 15 years and is licensed in both Tennessee and California. Dorinda loves the relationship she’s built with all of her patients through the years! Dorinda enjoys traveling and live music.
Fran
Registered Dental Hygienist
Fran has been a Dental Hygienist for many years and joined the Gaston and Murrell Team in 2020. She completed her studies at Vanderbilt University in Expanded Function Dental Hygiene.
She has loved her dental hygiene career with its opportunities to meet people from all walks of life, to encourage and educate them on how to achieve good oral health.
She enjoys volunteering in community health settings among the less fortunate to help raise the quality of their life through healthier smiles.
She is thankful and excited to be a member of the Gaston and Murrell team.
Alexis
Registered Dental Hygienist
Alexis is one of our dental hygienists at Gaston and Murrell Family Dentistry. She enjoys helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles since she joined the dental field in 2018. She first worked as a dental assistant before earning her degree in dental hygiene at South College in Nashville. Alexis was honored with the Golden Scaler Award by her dental hygiene program for her excellence in patient care and clinical skills. She values building lasting relationships with patients and making every visit a comfortable experience.
Peggy
Expanded Duty Dental Assistant
Peggy brings with her the ability to assist Dr. Murrell and his patient in a whole new way. She received advanced education through Nashville State Tech, University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, and the University of Tennessee. Her advanced training as a clinical assistant allows her to perform expanded functions in the office. This allows her to do more so that Dr. Murrell can be more efficient and focus more on your clinical care.
